Why Five Former Reston Association Presidents Endorse Daton Lynch
Five former Reston Association (RA) board presidents—leaders who understand both the responsibilities and limits of the role—have endorsed Daton Lynch for the At-Large board seat. Their support reflects a shared belief that Daton brings exactly what the RA Board needs right now: a public-service mindset, a fresh perspective, and a firm commitment to sound governance rather than micromanagement.
Daton understands the proper role of a board member and has the experience to be a meaningful contributor to board-level discussions. His service as a Fairfax County Consumer Protection Commissioner, where he addressed issues involving business practices and corporate accountability, closely parallels many of the the oversight responsibilities the Reston Association Board regularly confronts.
Taken together, these qualities make Daton Lynch the only at-large candidate with the experience, temperament, and credibility to govern effectively—setting policy, ensuring accountability, and empowering professional staff to execute their work well.
